In Loving Memory of Christopher Brainard

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our friend and brother, Christopher Brainard, who left us after a courageous battle with cancer.

Chris proudly served the City of New Haven and his department since joining Class 59 on July 24, 2015. He was the dedicated Driver of Truck 2 on the First Division, and a firefighter whose commitment, professionalism, and heart made a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.

Outside the firehouse, Chris was known for his love of the outdoors, dirt bikes, and—most of all—his family. His wife Sam, his children Colten and Avery, and all who loved him were the center of his world.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we ask you to keep Chris’s family, friends, and the members of our department in your thoughts and prayers. Please allow his family the time and space they need to grieve.

If you wish to help, donations can be made directly on this page.
All contributions will go directly to Chris’s wife and children, and will be handled with care by the Firemen’s Benevolent Association of New Haven.

Thank you for honoring Chris’s memory and supporting his family during this difficult time.
